so, uhh, I know I haven't really uploaded much at all lately...
And now is when I update my journal with a good reason or two...

reason one-
School. I know, i know, but i have to keep my grades up.
unfortunately, in order to do that and not crack under the immense pressure and not change my procrastinating habits, that doesn't allow me a lot of extra time...
I've still been drawing; mainly sketches though.

reason two-
The illnesses/viruses that tend to run around High schools. Now, whether you end up getting them or not depends on how well you take care of your body and by what means you do so. I usually try to get a lot of sleep but over the past week or week and a half, I developed a sore throat. which turned into the usual cough & runny nose. Then I went to Homecoming (a huge annual fall dance held the day after the Homecoming football game... which we lost) and all seemed well. For about a day or two.
Then suddenly, out of nowhere, this past Tuesday, I wake up with the worst headache in the world & sore shoulders. I force my self to take a shower & take out the garbage before the school bus comes. that day, I return home with something akin to the seasonal cold.
It doesn't seem to bad, but Wednesday afternoon, I developed a cough that can be heard all throughout my house, so my dad goes out to get me some cough syrup. I go to bed having had two teaspoons of cough syrup (new soapy-orange flavor) and probably more Grande Marnier than necessary.
(this is probably more than you need to know, but I'm trying to make it better. Also, it's almost over)
Yesterday (Thursday), I take a turn for the worst.
I don't go to school because I have a pounding headache, and I'm pretty much sore all over. That and it hurt to even blink. No, I'm not kidding.
I lied in bed all day then around 4:30 in the afternoon, I go to the doctor & find out it's not the seasonal flu (I already figured that because it hurt so much to even blink that I had the flu)that I have, but....

Swine Flu.

Yes, I know. I never thought it would happen.
At least when I get fully better, I won't have to get a vaccination for it though. Because I sure as heck am NOT going to die.
In fact, I found out that I had swine flu yesterday, and the only thing that I've taken for it is two Tylenol pills last night around seven pm. Knowing that, it's effects have probably already worn off, yet I feel absolutely great (with the exception of the fact that I still have a slight cough).

So, how much does having Swine Flu suck?
The answer is a lot. I'm not gonna lie to you, it really does suck, but it sucks no less than the seasonal flu. You may have a higher fever than you would with the seasonal (mine was about 102.2 F... I don't know what that is Celcius), but that's about it.
The best thing to do is to take a hot bath, drink a lot of water & orange juice, wash your bedding, and get 10-12 hours of sleep.
If you have a really runny nose when you have the flu (Swine or seasonal) and the skin around your nose gets the slightest bit dry, use Vaseline; it works.
And the last bit about having any type of flu-
Think positive thoughts. Yesterday when I was told I had Swine flu, I was scared. I'm not sure why, but I was scared. You can only be scared or worry about it for so long though. you need to get over it because it isn't likely that you will die unless you are pregnant or are an infant 6 months or younger.

So, yeah. by the end of this week (if not by tomorrow) I will be able to say that I survived 'The Swine'...

Swine Flu is a bitch, but only if you let it be one... and don't use hand sanitizer.
